Drug-Induced Nutrient Depletions

Medications

Antibiotics are NOT the only medication that disrupt the balance of the microflora in the gut. Here are the others, if you are taking them you NEED to be taking a good quality probiotic to offset the effect of the medication

  1. Proton-pump inhibitors – these are also known as acid blockers for many with heartburn
  2. Metformin – used in Type II diabetes most prominently
  3. Antibiotics – all forms
  4. Laxatives

If you want a strong immune system you have to get the gut flora balanced!
Remember a strong immune system isn’t how often you get sick, it is how quickly you are able to fight it off and return to normal.
